West Eugene

What to Expect When You Visit

West Eugene consists of mostly residential properties including single-family homes, apartments and multi-family homes. Some housing can be found above shops and restaurants at the west side of the downtown neighborhood. You'll also find the Lane County Fairgrounds and The Eugene Public Library in this neighborhood. Both places offer events throughout the year. The library also has free wifi and computers to use for those that might not have a computer at home. The children's reading section at the library has a play area and learning kits that can be taken home.

How to Get to West Eugene

While many natives would include the southwest hills as part of west Eugene, we want to highlight a small section of the neighborhood. West Eugene can essentially be found south of 6th Ave to W 18th, and the east-west borders are Willamette Street and Chambers Street. Parts of Eugene’s downtown shops and restaurants fall into the northeast corner of the neighborhood. You’ll find some of Eugene’s oldest homes along the presidential streets, many built more than 100 years ago, and quaint parks tucked into different areas. West Eugene is a blend of commercial and residential properties, with most of the commerce on the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 11th avenues. West Eugene has a lot to offer, but here are our favorite neighborhood spots:

1. Lane Events Center - 96 W 13th Ave, Eugene, OR 97402

Each year you’ll find the Lane County Fair hosted at this location, but the Lane Events Center has an ice skating facility and many events it hosts all year long.

2. Sweet Life Patisserie - 755 Monroe St, Eugene, OR 97402

Sweet Life is a citywide favorite, offering treats for everyone. In addition to traditional baked goods, Sweet Life offers gluten free and vegan options. Get a slice of the Cloud 9 cake, it's the best!
