South Eugene

As you drive through the southern part of our city you’ll find homes tucked along hillsides, wild turkeys going for a casual stroll, and tiny libraries filled with gently used books. The South Eugene neighborhood is as beautiful as it is iconic of Eugene.

Over The Hills

South Eugene is a sprawling expanse of hills and valleys, with residential homes making up most of the structures in the area. The general area is considered south of West 18th to the city limits, west of Amazon Drive, and east of Chambers. Some native Eugenians would include parts of campus and East Eugene in this neighborhood, but we’ve chosen to separate the two areas to better highlight the different parts of town. While South Eugene is mostly residential there are some shopping areas mixed in that include: Woodfield Station, Willamette street stores, The Meridian, and Edgewood Shopping Center.

What We Love About South Eugene

The South Eugene neighborhood can be split into four smaller communities, the Friendly Neighborhood, College Hill, the South Hills, and Fox Hollow. Each of these smaller communities is a well established area with schools, parks, and walking/biking/hiking trails throughout. The broader College Hill area has most of the commercial buildings in the area. Along Willamette street especially you'll find bars and restaurants, grocery stores, retail shops, and more. There's something there for everyone!

The South Hills and Fox Hollow communities weave through the trees and are filled with local wildlife and stunning scenic drives. Hop in the car and drive west on Fox Hollow to South Willamette St to enjoy the beauty of our city.
